Dan Schwartz will be a panelist during the webinar, "Labor and Employment Law and Policy Amid the Pandemic Crisis: How Attorneys Can Advise Clients Now" presented by the Hartford County Bar Association.
The novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19 has created a host of challenges for employers and workers while accelerating fundamental shifts already underway in the workplace. As the pandemic’s many lasting implications for the workplace and the way we work begin to emerge, employers are navigating far-ranging and thorny challenges – from operational considerations related to closures and staffing shortages to keeping employees safe and managing morale to making tough decisions related to compensation and providing leave to those unable to work. At the same time, attorneys are grappling with how to advise clients – CEOs working from home with a dispersed workforce, small business owners whose businesses have closed and workers who have been furloughed or laid off.
Participate in this CLE program to hear from a panel of distinguished lawyers experienced in labor and employment law and policy discuss a wide range of timely issues impacting employers and employees, including:
- Overview of federal and state actions in response to the pandemic, including Emergency Paid Sick Leave and Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Acts; Shared Work program; plant closing laws; and new unemployment benefits and programs.
- Executive orders and measures to keep employees safe during the crisis.
- How attorneys can keep up with developments and advise clients.
- Questions and answers.
This webinar is ideal for solo practitioners and small law firm lawyers and will provide all attorneys with practical information to remain current and informed about recent laws and policies related to the pandemic.
