Jim Bergenn, Joan Feldman and Tim Hollister Named "Top Lawyers"

Three (3) attorneys from Shipman & Goodwin LLP have been selected as Top Lawyers by Super Lawyers®: James W. Bergenn, Joan W. Feldman and Timothy S. Hollister.

Jim Bergenn, partner, has been ranked as one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Connecticut. Mr. Bergenn has more than 30 years of experience as a trial attorney and practices in the areas of complex criminal and civil litigation, including white collar crime and government investigations. He counsels clients in a variety of significant criminal cases, representing targets of investigations, criminal defendants, grand jury and other witnesses, and corporate and individual victims of crimes. Mr. Bergenn works on cases prosecuted by the gamut of state and federal authorities, including the U.S. Attorney’s Office; FBI; Securities and Exchange Commission; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and Office of Inspector General for various federal agencies. U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers recently named the firm as a Best Law Firm in Hartford, Connecticut in the areas of Criminal Defense: General Practice and Criminal Defense: White Collar.

Joan Feldman, a partner and Chair of the firm’s Health Law Practice Group, has been selected by Super Lawyers® as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in New England as well as one of the Top 25 Women Attorneys in Connecticut. Ms. Feldman represents health care providers in connection with health care, business, regulatory and administrative law matters. She advises clients on corporate governance, best practices, mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, joint ventures, physician/hospital strategic alliances, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and fraud and abuse. In addition, she often serves as general and special counsel. Ms. Feldman is also a frequent speaker and author on topics such as compliance, medical ethics, regulatory and reimbursement matters and health care reform. The firm was recently ranked as a Best Law Firm in Health Law (Hartford, Connecticut) by U.S. News & World Report and Best Lawyers.

Tim Hollister is a partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Real Estate, Environmental and Land Use Practice Group, and has been named one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Connecticut by Super Lawyers®. Mr. Hollister handles a wide range of real estate and administrative law issues that arise in the context of land use and environmental matters, and has been recognized nationally for his work in wetlands regulation, eminent domain, and workforce and affordable housing development. He has represented developers, corporations, property owners, municipalities, boards of education, and neighborhood and environmental groups in administrative proceedings before local, state, regional and federal agencies and litigation in the state and federal trial courts; he has argued more than 30 cases in the state and federal appellate courts.
