In 2015, despite making up almost half of the workforce, female full-time workers made only 80 cents for every dollar earned by men, a gender wage gap of 20 percent.  In Connecticut, as of December 2014, just 30% of all state judges were women.  In business, women currently hold only 4.6% of CEO positions at S&P 500 companies.  Despite these statistics, women are better educated, earning more than ever before and succeeding in crashing through the glass ceiling in increasing numbers.

Join us for this complimentary panel discussion featuring several women ceiling crashers from corporate, educational, political and legal backgrounds who will share their personal experiences and success stories.  We will follow up with a discussion about barriers that remain and ideas to create a more equitable and competitive workplace.

Confirmed speakers to date:

  • Nancy Wyman, Lieutenant Governor, State of Connecticut
  • Alexandra D. DiPentima, Chief Judge, Connecticut Appellate Court
  • Joelle A. Murchison, Associate Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, UConn
  • Harriet Munrett Wolfe, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Webster Financial Corporation

This presentation, sponsored by Women at the Helm, is the ninth of the Firm’s In Community series, presentations focusing on a variety of issues facing our workforce and community.
