Nicole Lapenta
Associate
Nicole Lapenta is an associate in our Business and Commercial Litigation Practice Group, where she focuses her work primarily in the areas of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights litigation. Nicole assists clients in all aspects of their bankruptcy case from motion practice to complex adversary proceedings. Nicole also represents clients in state and federal court, as well as in arbitrations, to enforce their rights as creditors.
Nicole graduated magna cum laude from Quinnipiac University School of Law and served as the Publication Editor for the Quinnipiac Law Review. While in law school, she received the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award in Bankruptcy and Creditor’s Rights, Federal Courts, and Electronic Discovery and Digital Evidence. Prior to law school, Nicole worked as a litigation paralegal focusing on complex aircraft accident cases in state and federal court. Before joining Shipman, she interned with the Honorable Victor A. Bolden, United States District Court Judge for the District of Connecticut and clerked for the Honorable James J. Tancredi, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Connecticut, Hartford Division.
