Dori Pagé Antonetti

Dori enjoys staying abreast of legal developments that have a significant impact on schools, most recently advising schools on policies and procedures related to supports and protections for transgender and gender non-conforming students, the elimination of the religious exemption from Connecticut’s student immunization requirements, changes to state law regarding marijuana, requests for curricular exemptions, and workforce diversity and non-discrimination issues.  She also assists clients in understanding their obligations under mandated reporting and bullying laws, FOIA, FERPA, and non-discrimination laws.  Dori has also provided guidance on complex federal and state regulations in a variety of areas, including drug testing and grant funding.

In addition, Dori’s practice includes advising organizational ombuds programs for institutions of higher education and other entities, assisting such programs in navigating their role as independent, impartial, confidential, and informal alternate channels for surfacing and resolving workplace issues.

Prior to joining Shipman, Dori worked as a Hearing Review Officer for the New York City Office of Labor Relations. Dori also clerked for Magistrate Judge John M. Facciola in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Before law school, Dori joined Teach for America and worked as a bilingual kindergarten teacher in Spanish Harlem.  Dori currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Connecticut Neag School of Education and the School of Education at Quinnipiac University.
