Brenda A. Eckert

Brenda helps clients navigate the array of travel bans and restrictions on visa issuance by embassies and consulates abroad, enabling clients to have access to critical foreign workers despite the COVID-19 pandemic. She represents a wide range of professionals including company executives and managers for start-up companies, investors, entrepreneurs, financial analysts, quantitative analysts, physicians, nurses, physical therapists, computer science and information systems engineers, and architects. She has successfully filed family-based immigrant visa petitions and adjustment of status applications, as well as U.S. Naturalization petitions. Additionally, Brenda counsels U.S. employers regarding I-9 compliance and self-audits, as well as compliance with the federal anti-discrimination immigration laws.

Brenda has been appointed to a Connecticut Commerce Committee study group, whose goal is to study a way for state universities and Connecticut employers to partner together to use the cap-exempt H-lB visa to stimulate the hiring of foreign nationals to fill critical job vacancies and stimulate the state's industry.

Brenda also practices employment law before state and federal courts and administrative agencies. Combined with her knowledge of immigration law, her experience as an employment lawyer enables her to counsel clients on intricate employment law matters involving international employees.
