Labor and Employment Attorney Zachary Hummel Joins Shipman & Goodwin LLP

Zachary A. Hummel has joined Shipman & Goodwin LLP’s Labor and Employment practice as a partner and will reside in the firm’s Stamford office.

Mr. Hummel focuses his practice in the areas of labor and employment and has extensive experience advising clients in a wide variety of industries. He represents clients in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies in the full range of employment matters such as employment discrimination, wage and hour class and collective actions, illegal harassment (including sexual harassment), legally mandated leaves and retaliation. He also regularly advises clients on related personnel issues as well as disciplinary issues; hiring and termination; reductions in force; internal investigations; requests for accommodations; personnel policies, handbooks and manuals; and non-compete agreements.

In addition, Mr. Hummel represents clients in traditional labor matters under the National Labor Relations Act, including negotiating collective bargaining agreements and handling unfair labor practice charges, advising on collective bargaining relationships, labor disputes, handling unfair labor practices litigation, union organizing efforts and certification and decertification elections.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hummel practiced labor and employment law in the New York office of a large international law firm.
