Shipman Promotes Alfredo Fernández to Partner, Elevates Two to Counsel

Shipman today announced the promotion of Alfredo Fernández to partner in the firm’s Hartford office. Fernández leads the firm’s international trade practice and is a key part of the firm’s national environmental practice. Danielle Furey, based in the firm’s Stamford office and Miriam Lewis, in Hartford, have been promoted to counsel.
The promotions became effective on January 1, 2021.
Fernández, who joined Shipman in 2012 as an associate, assists manufacturers, public and independent schools, colleges and universities, developers and property owners with internal investigations, voluntary disclosures and licenses/permits, transactions and business opportunities, internal compliance policies and agency inspection and enforcement proceedings. Prior to joining Shipman, Fernández was an aerospace engineer.
