Ian Leon, an associate Shipman’s Real Estate, Land Use, Environmental, Energy and Construction practices, has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Board of Directors for the Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association (CHBA).
Throughout its history, the CHBA has been active in community service. It offers a mentoring program to Hispanic law, college, and high school students, and a scholarship program for law students. In addition, its members are actively involved in numerous local and statewide boards. In the past, CHBA attorneys have examined the treatment of racial and ethnic minorities by the court system and have advocated for the provision of interpreter services in Connecticut.
Ian was thrilled to be elected and noted, “My involvement with the CHBA began in my first year of law school, and the CHBA has played a significant role in my professional development ever since. I’m excited to contribute to the CHBA’s mission, improving communication and resource sharing among members, and supporting students through mentorship.” Ian joined Robert Eagan from Travelers as the newly elected members to CHBA’s Board of Directors, and both will serve a two-year term which began in May of 2024.
