$150,000 VERDICT - Fall from Horse - Fractured Pelvis
Our client, a beginner rider, fell from a horse and sustained a fractured pelvis. The horse’s owner and trainer, an expert rider, never told our client that she was the first beginner to ride the horse. We argued that the horse was not appropriate for a beginner rider such as our client and that our client should have been informed. Prior to trial, the insurance company for the farm denied both coverage and liability for the owner/trainer. The jury’s verdict was $200K subtracted by 25% for the fault of our client for a verdict of $150K, which the insurance company paid.
