Defense of a trademark infringement action brought by a foreign manufacturer against an American distributor who owned the marks. The defense required translation of numerous documents from German to English and witness preparation for a preliminary injunction hearing held 2 weeks following service of the complaint. The preliminary injunction was denied. Following summary judgment in client's favor, case was tried to a jury on its counterclaim for breach of an oral distribution agreement and obtained verdict awarding damages and punitive damages.
