Major automobile manufacturer client previously operated a bearing manufacturing facility. After the facility closed in the 1960s, the plant was bought and sold several times. Current owners, who bought the plant at a greatly reduced price, brought suit in Connecticut District Court, seeking damages resulting from the alleged historical environmental contamination from the former manufacturing operations. Case was complicated by the various uses made of the facility over four decades by intervening property owners. Working against an array of environmental experts, the case was settled on favorable terms for the client.
