Shipman & Goodwin LLP is pleased to announce that Daniel A. Schwartz has been elected as a Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers Class of 2023. Dan is one of two Connecticut lawyers named in this year’s class, and only the third Connecticut Fellow who exclusively represents employers.
The College of Labor & Employment Fellows are recognized as distinguished members of the labor and employment community; election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by one’s colleagues for sustained outstanding performance in the profession, exemplifying integrity, dedication, and excellence. All Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers have practiced labor and employment law for at least 20 years.
“It is a tremendous honor to be elected Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers,” said Dan Schwartz, who joins a select list of just seven other practicing attorneys who are Fellows in Connecticut. “It is even more rewarding to be included in such a distinguished group of legal peers as one of just a handful of Connecticut employer-side attorneys to have ever received this important distinction.”
Dan has decades of experience solving complex, employment law problems for companies, including financial services and hedge funds, technology companies, Fortune 500 companies, public and private schools, and non-profits. Lauded by clients and peers for being a “go-to source” with “substantial knowledge of employment issues,” Dan brings a practical approach and warm demeanor to sensitive and difficult situations. In addition to serving as a frequent media source and commentator on a variety of employment topics, Dan is the author of the “Connecticut Employment Law Blog”, named to the ABA’s Blawg 100 Hall of Fame, and one of the most widely read and respected law blogs in the nation.
