The George W. Crawford Black Bar Association (“Crawford”), a volunteer state-wide organization that has represented the collective body of black attorneys in Connecticut since 1977, will host its 2014 Annual Dinner at the Hartford Marriott Downtown on Thursday, May 1, 2014. The Annual Dinner is Crawford’s premiere fundraising event.

The Annual Dinner also serves as a platform for recognition of individuals that have made significant contributions within their respective fields. In the past, Crawford has recognized individuals such as James T. Breedlove, Bill Strickland, Dr. Constance Belton Green, Lewis J. Robinson, Reginald R. Paige, Sr. and Senator Sanford Cloud, Jr. with its Trailblazer and Visionary Awards.

This year, Crawford will recognize Floyd W. Green, III, Vice President and Head of Community Relations and Urban Marketing for Aetna, Inc., with its 2014 Visionary Award and the Honorable Flemming L. Norcott, Jr., retired Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, with its 2014 Trailblazer Award. Crawford will also recognize its Priscilla Green Scholarship recipients at the Annual Dinner, which is a scholarship given to accomplished law students demonstrating a commitment to practicing law in Connecticut and current societal contributions in furtherance of Crawford’s mission.
