Firm's Volunteer Service Day Benefits Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport

June 12, 2014

Bridgeport’s Cardinal Shehan Center was the site of a major volunteer cleanup effort as attorneys from Shipman & Goodwin LLP devoted their annual laywers’ community day to preparing the Center for summer camp. The Center provides educational and recreational services to nearly 4,500 children and youth per year, regardless of race or religious affiliation.

“Sprucing up” projects included: building brand-new cubbies and picnic tables, organizing the library, painting walls and murals, cleaning and painting locker rooms as well as mulching and landscaping the grounds. In addition to donating more than $1,100 worth of supplies used for the day’s work, the firm also donated an abundance of arts and crafts supplies and $750 collected from attorney and staff contributions to support the Center’s summer camp and other programs.
