Shipman & Goodwin LLP will participate in the Yale Innovation Summit May 29-30, 2024, in New Haven, CT. The Summit is the largest entrepreneurship event on Yale’s campus and the largest gathering of venture capital investors in Connecticut. Partner Dormer Stephen will serve as a moderator for the Biotech Company Presentations on May 29 from 3-3:30 p.m. ET, leveraging his extensive experience advising emerging growth companies and investors. Dormer Stephen and Shipman & Goodwin have both been involved in the Summit since its inception 10 years ago, and Stephen has continuously participated as a speaker and discussion leader on various panels and showcases.
Stephen is the chair of the firm’s Business and Corporate Practice Group and has worked with hundreds of biotechnology companies whose research activities, products, and services include biopharmaceuticals, diagnostics, drug delivery, genomics, therapeutics, and vaccines, among other areas, for which numerous organizations are spinoffs from research initiatives at Yale University.

The Yale Innovation Summit brings together investors, Connecticut startups, corporate and industry partners, students, Yale faculty, and innovation partners from around the world. The agenda includes impactful conversations, networking opportunities, and a pitch competition across five tracks that include Arts, Biotech, Climate, Health, and Technology. More than 2,000 individuals, representing over three hundred companies, attended the 2023 summit.
This year’s event will feature: Dr. Chelsea Clinton, Vice Chair of the Clinton Foundation; Emmett Shear, co-founder of Twitch, former interim CEO of OpenAI; and Tom Steyer, author, climate activist and investor. This distinguished trio embodies the Summit's commitment to exploring the frontiers of innovation ranging from artificial intelligence (AI) to health and equity, and climate innovation.
