Speaking Engagements
November 17, 2022
Joan Feldman will be a panelist on UConn’s Women Law Students’ Association (WLSA) and HLIG’s “The Future of Reproductive Healthcare: A Post-Dobbs Discussion” which will be presented to UConn law students on November 17 at 5:00 PM. This discussion will explore novel legal problems created by Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, how Dobbs affects public access to abortion, and how law students can get involved.
Joan, Chair of Shipman’s healthcare practice, established Shipman’s Dobbs Decision Resource Center, a site dedicated to reporting on the legal ramifications particularly for healthcare organizations. She will be joined by Professor Carleen Zubrzycki, UConn School of Law, who recently published The Abortion Operability Trap in the Yale Law Journal; and Sarah LaCava from the REACH Fund of Connecticut, an organization that provides financial assistance for abortion care in Connecticut.
