EBC Emerging Contaminants Webinar: PFAS Legal Issues – What Do We Need to be Aware of?

Andrew Davis will present the session "PFAS: The Only Sure Thing is Uncertainty" during the Environmental Business Council of New England's "Emerging Contaminants Webinar: PFAS Legal Issues – What Do We Need to be Aware of." 

This EBC Emerging Contaminants webinar will provide a different perspective of the uncertainty of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from the legal side. The regulatory landscape has been evolving to address the presence of PFAS in drinking water. Consequently, public water suppliers and municipalities need to remain vigilant about the possibility of litigation – either as plaintiffs to recover damages to help pay for the massive capital costs for remediation technology or as defendants in toxic tort class action suits.

The keynote speaker for the webinar will be Robert Bilott, the environmental lawyer who brought DuPont to court over PFAS (and won).  The story was later turned into the movie "Dark Waters" with Robert's character played by Mark Ruffalo. Robert will present the session "Keynote Presentation: Dark Waters – The Story Behind the Environmental Legal Battle – Exposing Corporate Cover Up.
