Join us for our annual fall seminar on October 11, 2019 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown. This promises to be an interesting and informative program regarding recent developments in labor and employment law. Our half-day seminar will include discussions of the timely topics listed below as well as updates on recent legislation and court decisions affecting employers.

Choose Your Own Adventure: Hot Topics in Labor and Employment
Moderated by: Gabriel Jiran
Many developments have occurred in the past year, and in a “first of its kind” format, the audience will get to choose the topics and in what order they will be covered.
Potential topics could include:
- Updates in Immigration laws and enforcement activities (Brenda Eckert and Bradley Harper)
- Workplace violence and termination safety precautions (Kevin Roy and Sarah Westby)
- Minimum wage developments and more (Jarad Lucan and Chris Engler)
- Recent developments "wild card"

A New Approach to Connecticut’s Sexual Harassment Training Requirements
Presenters: Peter Murphy and Julia Wilde
This session will focus on the state’s new sexual harassment training requirements. During this session, speakers will share how this new law provides opportunity for employers to create more effective training sessions and maintain a workplace free from harassment.
11:15 - 12:00 PM - Session 3
Paid FMLA: Does It Leave You Confused?
Presenters: Dan Schwartz and Chris Neary
During this session, presenters will provide insight into the new paid FMLA Law and its requirements.
Topics will include:
- Existing provisions of state and federal FMLA
- The use of paid leave by employees while they are on FMLA
- Employers choice when deciding if an employee can use leave

Continuing Legal Education (CLE):
This CLE program has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the New York CLE Board for a maximum of 3.0 credit hour, of which 3.0 can be applied toward the Professional Practice requirement. This program is appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys.
