Damian J. Privitera is an associate in the firm’s Health Law and Data Privacy and Protection Practice Groups, where he advises health care entities, trade associations and other nonprofit and corporate entities on a variety of regulatory, transactional and administrative matters. He handles issues related to regulatory compliance under HIPAA and HITECH, federal and state fraud and abuse laws as well as other state and federal laws related to organizational and institutional licensure and health care payments. He also assists clients with service, business associate, employment and management agreements. In addition, Damian offers guidance on data privacy and security issues, including data breach readiness and response under HIPAA and other breach notification laws.
Prior to joining the firm, Damian practiced health law in the Albany, New York, offices of two national law firms. While in law school, he served as a law clerk for the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC, and in-house at an electric power transmission company in Paris, France.
