Several Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) students—some business majors, some not—participated in an Elevator Pitch Contest sponsored by the CCSU Entrepreneurship Club. The contest was based on the concept of having 60 seconds or less—the time it takes to ride up an elevator—to “pitch” an opportunity or sales idea to a potential investor or customer. Winners were selected using several criteria, including their clarity in presenting the idea; the competitive strength of the concept; the viability or likelihood of success; the balance of risk versus reward (also known as the attractiveness as an investment); and the enthusiasm and credibility of the presenter.

Shipman & Goodwin was a sponsor for the event, Donna Brooks served as judge from 2009-2011, and Matthew Montieth judged in 2012.  Click here to learn more about the 2012 competition.
