Christine assists owners, developers, contractors and design professionals with construction-related contracting and procurement matters. With a solid background in business, finance and commercial real estate law, Christine understands the competing interests that may be at play in the launching and successful completion of a construction project. With this understanding, she is able to better assist clients in reaching their project goals.

Christine routinely drafts, negotiates and interprets complex agreements for both public and private construction projects incorporating a wide variety of project delivery, project management and risk allocation methods.  She is well versed in the forms of construction documents used by the construction industry, such as those produced by the AIA and the EJCDC, and also drafts contracts and contract provisions to meet the specific needs of her clients. Christine provides guidance to public and quasi-public owners, such as public school districts and universities, in connection with bidding/procurement practices, including statutory and regulatory compliance and bonding and insurance requirements. She also regularly counsels the firm’s healthcare, business, and independent school clients in connection with all aspects of the construction process.

Christine has prepared and negotiated contracts for a wide variety of projects and industries including healthcare, educational, retail, office and residential facilities as well as utility and infrastructure projects, to name a few.

Christine recently employed her skills and experience in the representation of a developer in connection with a multi-million dollar mixed use development in New Haven, Connecticut. The development included retail, office and residential space, involved multiple parties and funding sources (including a ground lease), a condominium form of ownership, and faced some environmental challenges. With the help of others in her firm, Christine was able to successfully bring this matter to a successful close.

Christine has provided guidance to the University of Connecticut for several years, assisting the University with construction related contracting and procurement matters.  She recently led a team of University stakeholders in the review and updating of the University’s contract forms for design professionals, general contractors and construction managers at risk.
