September 17, 2014

William J. Roberts has been appointed by the American Bar Association (ABA) to serve as a Business Law Section Envoy for a two-year term (2014-2016). As part of the ABA’s leadership and diversity outreach program recognizing a small number of outstanding young, diverse, and lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) lawyers, the Envoys Program provides leadership opportunities within the Business Law Section in order to increase diversity in the Section and identify new leaders to help shape the future of the Section.

As part of his appointment, Attorney Roberts will be assuming leadership roles in the Business Law Section’s Health Care and Life Sciences and Cyberspace Committees, where he will focus on data privacy, telemedicine and the intersection of health care and technology.

He counsels clients on a wide range of legal issues pertinent to the health care and life science sectors, including corporate and regulatory compliance, telemedicine, social media, and government investigations. With his extensive experience in data privacy and security matters, he handles data breaches for both health care and non-health care clients. Attorney Roberts also works with clients on the development and implementation of compliance programs, including reviewing policies and procedures, conducting employee training and responding to compliance incidents.
