Jim Schulwolf Speaks to Borrower's Counsel on Commercial Loan Documents

August 23, 2011

In a webinar sponsored by the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Business Law Section and ABA Center for Continuing Legal Education, Shipman & Goodwin Commercial Finance Partner James Schulwolf recently examined key loan document considerations for borrowers’ counsel in commercial loan transactions.

Mr. Schulwolf, a partner in the firm’s Hartford office and Chair of the Commercial Finance Committee of the ABA’s Business Law Section, explored the main issues that the borrower and its counsel should anticipate from a lender when seeking and negotiating a secured commercial loan. In addition to determining which items should be addressed up front in the transaction, Mr. Schulwolf discussed representations and warranties as well as affirmative, negative and financial covenants.

Mr. Schulwolf is also a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers; he can be reached at or (860) 251-5949.
