James Ruggeri Receives National Recognition from "Chambers USA America's Leading Lawyers"

The Conn. & D.C. Firm Honored in 8 Categories, and 14 Attorneys Named "Leaders in Their Field"

James P. Ruggeri, a Partner with Shipman & Goodwin LLP’s Washington, D.C. office, has received a 2011 National recognition from Chambers USA America’s Leading Lawyers, the nation’s preeminent guide to law firms and individual attorneys. In addition, Shipman & Goodwin LLP’s Washington, D.C. and Connecticut offices have been recognized in eight different areas of practice, and 14 of the firm’s attorneys have been recommended as “Leaders in Their Field”.
Ruggeri is the first attorney with Shipman & Goodwin LLP to ever receive a ranking in the “Nationwide” category, and this is the second consecutive year that he has been recognized with this honor. Ruggeri was recognized for his outstanding national practice work in the Insurance: Dispute Resolution: Insurer category. Both he and Shipman & Goodwin LLP’s D.C. office also were recognized in the Insurance: Insurer category.
As long-time national counsel for complex insurance coverage matters for The Hartford Financial Services Group and its affiliates, Ruggeri focuses principally in the areas of litigation, including trial and appellate matters involving general commercial, bankruptcy, and insurance coverage litigation. He practices actively in federal and state courts in the nation’s capital and around the country. Prior to joining Shipman & Goodwin LLP in 2010, Ruggeri was a partner at Hogan & Hartson in Washington, D.C.
