Complying with export controls is a critical component for companies exporting from a wide variety of industry sectors. This all-day seminar is tailored to small and medium sized companies selling products that require compliance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and/or International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Learn from and interact with the agencies that handle export controls, the regulations that apply to your business operation, and the standards for an effective export control management system. Speakers will include private sector experts and practitioners along with interactive video conference presentations from the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) and Department of Defense, Defense Technology Security Administration (ITAR).

During this seminar, companies will:
  • Find out how to comprehend and utilize the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) and Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) classification lists.
  • Learn the steps to take to determine the export licensing requirements for your product.
  • Discover what a model export compliance system looks like and how to avoid penalties and fines.
  • Identify areas of focus companies should be prepared to update and/or change to comply with proposed regulatory changes.
This seminar is sponsored by the US Commercial Service, CT Department of Economic and Community Development and Webster Bank.
