April 6, 2015

Members of Shipman & Goodwin’s International Trade Compliance and Enforcement practice are the featured speakers for six international trade compliance webinars in a series presented by the U.S. Commercial Service, the trade promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.

Ross H. Garber and Alfredo G. Fernandez will provide guidance to companies engaged in international commerce on such topics as the importance of complying with U.S. export control laws and regulations, managing global trade compliance risks, conducting investigations and handling enforcement actions, and identifying risks and red flags associated with Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement.

Our attorneys will lead the following webinars:

Ross Garber is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group, co-chairs its Government Investigations and White Collar Criminal Defense practice, and oversees the firm’s International Trade Compliance and Enforcement practice.  In addition to litigating significant business disputes, Ross conducts internal investigations and represents clients in investigations and prosecutions by federal and state law enforcement agencies and regulators.

Alfredo Fernandez is an associate in the Government Investigations and White Collar Criminal Defense Group, with a focus on International Trade Compliance and Enforcement. He works with clients on compliance and enforcement matters involving the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) and other related U.S. laws and policies affecting international trade and business. Prior to joining the firm, Alfredo worked as an aerospace engineer for a leading aircraft engine manufacturer.
