Hawkins Elected to ABA's House of Delegates

Barry C. Hawkins, a partner with the firm, has been elected as the new Connecticut State Delegate for the American Bar Association’s (ABA) House of Delegates. The ABA is one of the world’s largest voluntary professional organizations, with nearly 400,000 members; the House of Delegates is the policy-making body of the ABA and is responsible for the control and administration of the association.

Mr. Hawkins will serve a three-year term as State Delegate. He is also a member of the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents (an affiliate of the ABA), immediate past president of the Connecticut Bar Association, and a Director of the New England Bar Association.

In addition to being member of the firm's Real Estate, Environmental and Land Use practice, Mr. Hawkins is the former Division Chair of the National Uniform Law Commission and the former Chair of the National Enactment Committee of the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA). Mr. Hawkins is a frequent speaker and author on UPMIFA and other endowment spending issues as well as on real estate, land use and environmental issues.
