Environment, Energy and Land Use Legislative Update

February 5, 2009

Authors: Matthew Ranelli

The proposed bill deadline has passed and the deadlines to draft raised bills and committee bills are fast approaching. Thus, while there will be some new raised and committee bills to add to the table below in the coming weeks, the overall number of bills in the table should decrease after the committee bill deadlines in the first week of March. A table of deadlines for all Committees is available from the Legislative Commissioners' Office's website. In the meantime, committees will continue holding public hearings and voting on bills ahead of their respective public hearing and joint favorable report (or "JF") deadlines.

Table 1 below is a list of select environment, energy, and land use bills that may be of interest; it is not a comprehensive listing of bills. The "Bill Status" link provides a short description of the purpose of the bill, a link to the bill text, and information regarding its status in the legislative process, proposed amendments, committee reports, and vote tallies. The bill status website information is updated automatically so it is always current. To check for upcoming public hearing agendas use the links in Table 2 below.
