Eight Lawyers from Shipman & Goodwin LLP Selected as Lawyers of Color: High Achievers

Shipman & Goodwin LLP is pleased to announce that these lawyers of color are among a select group honored for their achievements by the Connecticut Law Tribune: Leander Altifois Dolphin, Lina Estrada McKinney, Sonia Pedraza, Michelle Querijero, Chasity Roberts, Robert SimpsonClarisse Thomas and Latonia Williams.

Leander Altifois Dolphin represents public school districts and private schools in education and employment matters; previously, she served as Vice President of Human Resources and as General Counsel of a major statewide organization. Lina Estrada McKinney represents health care industry clients on general contracting, business counseling and governance matters; she also works with bioscience industry clients. Sonia Pedraza practices in the areas of insurance coverage and product liability and tort litigation, and has represented major product manufacturers and retail establishments in a variety of matters ranging from premises liability to defective design cases. Ms. Pedraza also has more than 13 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Michelle Querijero practices in the areas of product liability and tort litigation, and has also handled complex business litigation for major commercial clients; prior to her legal career, she worked for more than 10 years as an aerospace engineer.

Chasity Roberts practices in the areas of insurance coverage litigation and employment-based immigration law before state and federal courts and administrative agencies; previously, she worked in a one-year internship for a multi-faceted privately held real estate company. Robert Simpson practices in the areas of product liability, employment and business litigation; he represents major product manufacturers, and clients have included some of the world’s largest automobile makers and energy companies; he also challenged the Federal Communications Commission in a landmark case that resulted in a change of federal legislation. Clarisse Thomas practices in the areas of labor and employment law and business litigation, representing clients in a wide range of employment-related litigation and counseling employers on a variety of personnel matters.
