For the fifth consecutive year, Shipman & Goodwin is honored to be the exclusive law firm sponsor of Diversity Week at the University of Connecticut School of Law.
Diversity Week 2017 is a campus-wide event that showcases UConn Law School’s commitment to offering a safe and diverse environment. This year’s theme, “Missed Conversations,” includes activities such as a kickoff luncheon and panel discussion on elitism in legal education; an interactive exhibit on implicit bias created by the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center; and panel discussions on the impact of immigration reform and social and legal battles on behalf of individuals who do not conform to the gender binary. There will also be a screening of the documentary “James Baldwin: The Price of the Ticket” and a conversation with the filmmaker. This year’s keynote speaker is Doug Hood, who will discuss clemency efforts for Panna Krom.
