We apologize for the inconvenience, but this seminar is full.

Recently, the General Assembly revised the statutes and the State Department of Education issued guidance concerning student discipline. Please join us for a workshop that will review these changes and offer guidance on the proper procedures for school districts to follow when disciplining students. During the workshop, we will also discuss how to respond to litigation concerning student discipline in state and federal courts.

Workshop topics will include:

  • Suspending students under the Connecticut Department of Education’s October 2008 Guidelines for In-School and Out-of-School Suspensions.
  • Following appropriate procedures for student expulsions, including requests for early readmission and expungement of records.
  • Handling state and federal litigation arising from student discipline.

Each participant is invited to bring a complimentary guest to the workshop. When registering, please register your guest as well. Parking will be provided if you park in Kinsley Street South Garage. Please bring your parking ticket with you for validation.
