Clarisse Thomas currently practices in the areas of employment law, employment litigation, business litigation and product liability and tort litigation. She represents clients in both the private and public sectors, including local and national corporations, hedge funds, private equity firms, municipalities and non-profit organizations, and in a variety of matters, including employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, contractual disputes, business torts, corporate governance, and medical device liability and toxic tort claims. She also conducts trainings for the firm’s corporate clients in various aspects of employment law, including sexual harassment prevention trainings for supervisory and managerial employees.
Before joining Shipman & Goodwin, Clarisse worked for several years at an insurance defense firm based in Stamford, where she primarily defended municipalities and police departments in connection with federal constitutional law claims. She also handled complex civil and business litigation, including product liability matters. Prior to that, she worked as a law clerk for an appellate advocacy firm in Hartford, Connecticut, and she also clerked for Judge Trial Referees Socrates Mihalakos and Joseph Pellegrino at the Appellate Court of Connecticut.
