IRA Distribution Rules
Presented by: Ali Haffner, Esq. and Danielle P. Ferrucci

The required minimum distribution rules for IRAs are sometimes a confusing labyrinth for clients who often turn to their CPAs and other professional advisors for assistance in understanding these rules and choosing the most advantageous beneficiary designations.

This practical session will provide a refresher on the required minimum distribution RMD rules, including the rules governing distributions during the participant's lifetime and after the participant's death, and calculating such distributions. The speakers will also review IRA beneficiary designation options, including the requirements involved when designating a trust as beneficiary of an IRA. The speakers will also provide a brief review of recent legislative changes affecting 2009 minimum required distributions and lifetime distributions to charity.
