This program reviews the management policies and practices that have been identified by the IRS (and in the new Form 990) as critical to good governance by a tax-exempt organization, including a conflict of interest policy, executive compensation policy, joint venture policy, whistleblower policy, document retention and destruction policy, Form 990 due diligence questionnaire, and the Form 990 review procedure. The presentation focuses on the federal and Connecticut legal requirements governing such policies and the common sense application of good governance best practices to different types of tax-exempt organizations.
