Brown and Fay Named Partners

Rebecca B. Brown and Julie C. Fay have been named partners of the firm.

Rebecca Brown is a member of the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Finance practices, where she represents lenders and borrowers in real estate financing and commercial and residential real estate development transactions. She has extensive experience handling complex matters involving distressed real property assets, workouts and foreclosures. In addition, Ms. Brown has been engaged in large-scale acquisitions for real estate development projects, including mixed-use residential housing and shopping centers. Ms. Brown also represents buyers and sellers in connection with their high-end residential transactions as well as landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Fairfield County Bar Association, and has previously served as Co-Chair of both the Business Section and Young Lawyers Section. Ms. Brown is resident in the firm’s Stamford office.

Julie Fay is a member of the firm’s School Law and Labor and Employment practices. She represents both public and independent schools in a variety of special education and general education law matters, with a particular focus on issues relating to students with disabilities, student discipline, confidentiality, school governance and policy. Ms. Fay frequently represents schools in administrative hearings, including expulsion hearings, special education due process hearings and related proceedings, and is often called upon to guide districts in drafting policies and administrative procedures in all education law areas. She is currently an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law, where she teaches a course on Education and the Law. Ms. Fay is resident in the firm’s Hartford office.
