Brown and Baker Honored As Fairfield County 40 Under 40

Shipman & Goodwin LLP attorneys Rebecca B. Brown and Alison P. Baker have been selected by the Fairfield County Business Journal as two of its “40 Under 40” honorees for their contributions to the Fairfield County business community. 
 
Rebecca Brown, a partner in the firm’s Real Estate and Commercial Finance practices, represents lenders and borrowers in real estate financing and commercial and residential real estate development transactions. She has extensive experience handling complex matters involving distressed real property assets, workouts and foreclosures. In addition, Ms. Brown has been engaged in large-scale acquisitions for real estate development projects, including mixed-use residential housing and shopping centers. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Real Estate Section of the Fairfield County Bar Association, and previously served as Co-Chair of both the Business Section and Young Lawyers Section. On a pro bono basis, Ms. Brown represents a local religious organization in a general counsel capacity, handling corporate governance and debt restructuring issues. Ms. Brown is resident in the firm’s Stamford office.

Alison Baker is a member of the firm’s Corporate & Financial Litigation and Real Estate practices. In the area of civil litigation, she represents diverse clients in all aspects of business disputes, including contract disputes, fraudulent transfers, business torts and breaches of fiduciary duty. In addition, she has extensive experience in a variety of real estate disputes, representing banks, title insurance companies, creditors and landowners in litigation, arbitration and mediation. Ms. Baker also regularly performs pro bono work, including representing victims of domestic violence, survivors of the Holocaust and disabled veterans. As a member of the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, she has been involved in coordinating the organization’s annual Horn of Plenty Food and Clothing Drive. Ms. Baker is resident in the firm’s Stamford office.
