Attorney Robert Simpson to Lead Mega ABA CLE For Litigators in NYC

Lawyers, Judges, Government Officials, Business Leaders and Academics to Speak

April 14, 2010

Almost two years ago, Lorna Schofield, the Chair of the ABA’s Section of Litigation, appointed Robert Simpson, a partner with the Hartford Office of Shipman & Goodwin LLP, to be a Co-Chair of the ABA’s 2010 CLE Conference in New York City. “I needed a proven leader who understands cutting edge litigation issues and has the talent and energy to spearhead a program that will be the nation’s premier CLE Conference for litigators,” said Ms. Schofield of her decision to select Mr. Simpson. Ms. Schofield, also a partner with Debevoise & Plimpton, also noted that “I observed what Rob did as a Chair of the Section’s Corporate Counsel Conference and knew that he would elevate the quality and exposure of our conference.”

Mr. Simpson has answered the call. From April 21-23 at the Hilton New York, Mr. Simpson and his Co-Chairs Susan Saltzstein of Skadden Arps, Shannon Selden of Debevoise & Plimpton and Sheldon Finkelstein of Podvey Meanor will roll out this incredible Conference that features 50 CLE programs over 12 litigation tracks. The Conference features 200 experts in trial practice, leading public officials, 30 federal and state jurists, in-house counsel and representatives of the news media who will participate in sessions for the nation’s largest gathering of trial lawyers when the American Bar Association Section of Litigation meets in New York City. Mr. Simpson has included a number of Connecticut lawyers and judges in the planning and programming.
