Sample Workplace Violence Prevention Policy to Comply With New Connecticut Legislation

The Connecticut Legislature recently enacted Public Act No. 11-175 requiring that licensed health care facilities with fifty (50) or more employees create a Workplace Violence Prevention Committee to assess and develop a plan to address the health and safety of its health care employees.  Health care facilities must conduct the first assessment by January 1, 2012 and annually thereafter.  As a courtesy to you, Shipman & Goodwin LLP has drafted a sample policy which you can use as a model to address the new requirement.
