Four Lawyers from Shipman & Goodwin LLP Receive "Lawyer of the Year" Honors

Four lawyers from Shipman & Goodwin LLP have each been named “Lawyer of the Year” in their individual practice areas by Best Lawyers 2012: Richard Cohen, Hartford Employee Benefits (ERISA) Law; Timothy Hollister, Hartford Litigation -- Land Use & Zoning; Anne Littlefield, Hartford Education Law; and Saranne Murray, Hartford Labor Law-Management.

Based on more than 3.9 million confidential detailed evaluations, Best Lawyers, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession, designates only a single lawyer in each high-profile legal specialty in each large legal community as a “Lawyer of the Year.” 

These Shipman & Goodwin attorneys received particularly high ratings by earning a high level of respect among their peers for their abilities, professionalism and integrity.

Richard Cohen, Hartford Employee Benefits (ERISA) Lawyer of the Year, counsels clients on ERISA compliance and issues relating to pensions and employee benefits, including tax-qualified retirement plans, 403(b) plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, SERPs and cafeteria plans. Timothy Hollister, Hartford Litigation -- Land Use & Zoning Lawyer of the Year, handles a wide range of real estate and administrative law issues in land use and environmental matters. He has developed a national reputation in land use law, and is widely recognized for his work in workforce and affordable housing development, wetlands regulation, and eminent domain. Anne Littlefield, Lawyer of the Year in Hartford Education Law, is Co-Leader of Shipman & Goodwin’s School Law Practice Group.
